One of my personal favourites that I couldn’t NOT put on this list is Cradle Mountain. Tasmania is one of Australia’s hidden gems, and is the ultimate Aussie getaway for those wanting to squeeze as much as possible into their trip. From beautiful wineries, awesome hikes, and jaw-dropping scenery, Tasmania has it all. The best part? It’s all so close together and you can easily see and experience so many unique experiences all within a couple hours drive apart.
Tasmania is also one of Australia’s last states that allows freedom camping, meaning as long as you’re out of a town or city boundary (and not on someone's private property!) you can pull up and camp wherever you wish. Of course, that also means Tasmania has some incredible glamping options as well, with my personal favourite being at Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. Discovery Park Cradle Mountain provides a getaway to the heart of ancient wilderness. Stay in cosy cabins that blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, giving you the chance to experience the raw beauty of alpine lakes, ancient rainforests, and stunning peaks. Glamping has got to be my new favourite way of travelling. It’s all the freedom, exploration, and disconnect that I need in a camping trip, but far more comfortable and relaxing than regular camping. If I was booking a trip around Australia, I’d make sure I’ve got at least one glamping experience on my itinerary to take a break from the noise and recharge out in nature. Whether that’s by the beach in Rottnest Island or tucked away in the mountains at Cradle Mountain, there’s a glamping experience for everyone out there just waiting for you.
